Continuing with the principles covered in
Elements of Screen Acting and The Film Actor this course goes beyond the technical aspect of the medium and allows the student to develop stronger choices adapted to the screen. This Workshop will deal with the actual real world situations of working on episodic television; last minute script changes, shot changes and character changes. Rehearsing with stand ins then shooting with the star. The first week will be an Info class about the logistics of the workshop, scene assignments and table reads. Subsequent weeks will be on camera with selected work recorded, view and critiqued.

Acting Lab: Special Topics *
Continued study of the acting process focusing on special topics in technique.

Adaptive Acting: Continuing Study * [off camera]
This class will utilize the exercises learned in Intro to Adaptive Acting Acting to reinforce the discipline necessary to repeat the work. The true "craft" of acting, is consistency, while maintaining the illusion of the first time. The "where" and "why" of the circumstances will be more closely explored.  Rehearsal technique and optional work outside of class will allow the actor to build the scenes from week to week. Continuing Study allows actors to bring their own material to work on as cold reading or memorized scenes and monologues. This class is a continuation of Intro to Adaptive Acting.

The Class will take the actor from the first audition to the final call back, from the smallest role to the leads.  [Seealso  Cold Reading Technique ]

Audition Monologue Workshop * [on & off camera]
Learn to find, develop, rehearse audition monologues for use on stage and camera. In this cumulative workshop, students will choose 1 or 2 monologues 1-2 minutes in length. Final week students will record monologues for the purpose of use as a camera audition. Suitable for all actors whether it's your first time working with monologues or very experienced.

Cold Reading Technique * [off camera]
This class will provide the actor an opportunity to practice sound reading technique. Take risks and successfully make choices that work best for you. Keep your skills fine tuned -- The more you do it the better you get! Space is reserved for those actors who have had prior cold reading experience and/or training.  Students must have a sound understanding of Michael Shurtleff’s 13 Guideposts prior to enrolling in this workshop.
